The Rev. Abigail Livingood, Priest-in-Charge

In July 2022, Abigail was ordained as a priest at Trinity Waterloo. Abigail and her husband, Doug, are empty nesters and moved here from Des Moines. Doug is a consulting actuary and he and Abigail grew up east of the Mississippi in Michigan and Kentucky before work took them to several locations on the east coast. They have now lived in Iowa longer than any other state.

Abigail graduated from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN and is also a Spiritual Director and an artist working primarily in fiber and metal.

Jo Ruth Capoccioni, Music Director

Jo's primary instrument is the piano, which her mother, Willa (formerly music director at Trinity), taught her to play at an early age. She began teaching at Peet JHS in Cedar Falls in June 1977; she just recently retired. From the age of 14, she has been a church organist, either in Reinbeck at the UCC church or here Trinity, where she is the music director as well.

She directs both our Chancel Choir and Chime Choir, and always welcomes new members to join the fun. She feels very passionately that music is an important part of our liturgy and hopes to encourage the congregation to participate in singing or playing during services.

In her spare time, Jo enjoys knitting and has created a wonderful line of themed scarves and hats, which she bases primarily on movie stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, and Lucille Ball.

Carrie Nieman, Preschool Director

I have been with Trinity as a lead preschool teacher since opening in 2006. I took over the director position in 2011 and have been so proud of the center that we have become.

I have a BA in Early Childhood Education along with a Reading Endorsement for K-8. I absolutely adore teaching and all the happy faces that greet me in the morning. It is amazing to see the impact that we have in the lives of our children and families at Trinity.
