Wonderings on Wednesday – March 30, 2016
The celebration of Carol Houk’s life and witness will be Saturday, April 2 at 10 a.m. at Trinity, with the internment to follow the service – and a reception here at the church.

I omitted thanking Izzy Doughty for her role as the Easter Bunny on Easter Day – ‘hiding’ lots of eggs.  Thanks, Izzy!

Canterbury Forum

This Sunday, April 3, at 7:00 PM Dr. Dolly Maier of UNI will be speaking about the role that some churches, especially Anglican and Catholic Churches, played in the genocidal warfare in Rwanda in 1994. Dolly is married to Stephen J. Rapp, US Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues and former Prosecutor, United Nations Tribunal for Sierra Leone, and a leading international authority on the horrors that took place in Rwanda. The story she has to tell is a sobering reflection on the dark ways in which religion can act during nightmarish times like the ones that descended on Rwanda twenty years ago.

The program will take place in Will Hall at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 2410 Melrose Drive in Cedar Falls. The doors will open at 6:30. As always, the program is free and open to the public.
